2006 NY/NJ WHITE SOX The NY/NJ White Sox completed an extremely successful 2006 season adding the 2006 Lou Gehrig Fall Championship. The Fall Championship completes a season sweep for the Sox (2nd time in team and league history) as the Sox won the 2006 Lou Gehrig Spring Championship. The Lou Gehrig Championships saw the #1 Seeded NY/NJ White Sox take on the #2 Seeded Colts Neck Braves. In the Regular season, the Sox and Braves split a double header with each team winning by scores of 2-1. The Finals would prove to be just as exciting. In game 1, Randy Shupe took on Chris Bott. The game was scoreless through 7 innings, and the Braves would take advantage of Sox errors to take a 3-0 lead in the 8th inning. But the Sox would not fold. In the bottom of the 9th, back to back singles by Light and Mercado got the offense going. With 1 out, Surman singled to load the bases, and Williams reached on an infield single to push across a run. With the Sox down 3-1 and 2 outs, Championship MVP Jason Leyner lined a 2 run single to left field tying the game. David Jiminian then came up and lined a single to left scoring the winning run and giving the Sox a 1-0 series lead. Randy Shupe dominated as he pitched the complete game allowing only 1 earned run on 8 hits and struck out 8. Game 2 would be just as exciting. Colin Feneis of the Sox took on Pat Jackson of the Braves. The Sox jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on an Home Run by Kevin O'Neill. Adam Light's RBI groundout in the 4th, and Feneis' RBI Single in the 5th gave the Sox a 3-0 lead. The Braves would fight back scoring 4 unearned runs giving them a 4-3 lead. But once again, the Sox would not be out done. In the 8th, Jason Leyner led off with a Double. O'neill singled Leyner to 3rd with 1 out and Danny Mercado pushed the run across to tie the game. In the 9th, Steve Surman led off with a double, and with 2 out, Jason Leyner came through again with an RBI Single winning the game. Colin Feneis pitched a complete game, not allowing an earned run on 7 hits and striking out 11. |

In Game 1, David Jiminian got the call and shut down the Braves bats. Chris Bott of the Braves was equally as good, but the Sox managed to push across 2 runs on an RBI Double by Gottlob, and another run scoring on an attempted double steal. Jiminian struck out 6, which gives him 600 in his 5 year MSM Career. Game 2 featured another pitchers duel as Colin Feneis of the Sox battled against Frank Fariello. The Sox lead 1-0 on an RBI Groundout by Dixon, but that lead would evaporate in the 5th inning. Struggling with his control, Feneis worked into the 5th inning allowing only 3 hits. After retiring the first batter in the 6, he walked 4 consecutive batters tying the game. A Sac Fly by Sit gave the Braves a 2-1 victory. The Sox and Braves only managed 3 hits a piece. |

Sox vs. Yankees The NY/NJ White Sox will host the Saddle River Yankees in a rematch of the 2003 Lou Gehrig Championship. In 2003 The Sox entered as the #6 seed, while Saddle River was the #2 seed. The Sox defeated the Brewers in round 1 behind Jiminian 7-0, then defeated the 3 time Defending Champion Verona Marlins 2 games to 1. In game 1 of that series, the Sox overcame a 13-0 4th inning deficit to win 18-13 in extra innings. Joe Soto was the series MVP. In the finals, the Sox took on the Saddle River Yankees. In Game 1 with the Sox up 8-6 in the bottom of the 9th inning, Frank Kellenher hit a 3 run walk off Home Run to give the Yankees a 1-0 series lead. In game 2, David Jiminian came in and dominated the Yankees to even up the series. Game 3 was another great game won by the Sox, Tony LePaige got the win and Championship MVP David Jiminian got the Save. This year, the Sox won all 3 games in the regular season. On Opening Day, David Jiminian pitched 7 innings of 1 hit shut out ball in the Sox 11-1 win. Game 2 saw Randy Shupe shut down the Yankees in a 10-4 victory. In Game 3 Dave Wasserman won a pitchers duel against Jose Arroyo 4-1. Saddle River is making the Lou Gehrig League Finals for the 4th consecutive year. The Yankees look to win their 1st Championship at the expense of the Sox, who are looking to win their 5th League Championship... Game 1 is scheduled for Sunday August 20th, 7:00pm at Larry Doby... |

The Sox Sweep Brewers! The NY/NJ White Sox advance to the Lou Gehrig League Finals with a Sweep over the Defending Champion Parsippany Brewers. Pitching and a complete team effort helped the Sox in both games. The Sox will now wait for their opponent as Saddle River and Ridgefield Park will play a deciding Game 3 on Saturday August 19th. Game 1 of the Championship Series will be on Sunday night, 7:00pm at Larry Doby in Paterson. Sox Take 1-0 Series Lead... The #1 seeded NY/NJ White Sox opened the 2006 Lou Gehrig
Semi-Finals with a 10-3 victory over the #4 seeded Parsippany Brewers. David
Jiminian started and was dominating on the mound. Jiminian pitched a complete
game, 9IP, allowing 7 hits, 1 earned run, walked 3, and struck out 13. The
struggling Sox offense scored early and often today. In the first, after a
leadoff walk to Capogna, Alvarez SAC bunt, led to an RBI Single by Upchurch, and
later an RBI Sac Fly by Jiminian. Adam Light singled home a run in the 2nd to
give the Sox a 3-0 lead. After the Brewers made it a 3-1 game, Jiminian quickly
got that run back with a single in the 3rd. With the Sox up 5-1, they would blow
the game open in the 7th due to some wildness by the Brewers pitchers. 3 hit
batters, a walk, a sacrafice, and 2 hits later, the Sox had themselves a 9-1
lead (Shupe, Alvarez, and Upchurch each collected an RBI). Catano would add an
RBI Double in the 8th for a 10-1 lead before the Brewers would score 2 unearned
runs in the 9th inning. Sox Advance to the Finals!!! The NY/NJ White Sox advance to the Lou Gehrig Championships
with an 8-5 victory over the Parsippany Brewers in 10 innings. The Sox swept the
2 game series and await the winner of the Saddle River/Ridgefield Park series... |

The Sox Look for Revenge! The NY/NJ White Sox will take on the Parsippany Brewers for the 2nd straight year in the Lou Gehrig League Best of 3 Semi-Finals. Last year, the Sox came into the series with a 16-3-1 record, but that didn't matter to the Brewers. With Sox Ace David Jiminian injured, the Brewers came in and defeated Juan Williams 9-3 in Game 1. The loss in Game 1 forced the Sox to turn to an injured Jiminian in game 2 on Sunday night. In 3 innings of play, the Sox had a 6-0 lead, Jiminian had 6 strikeouts, BUT the rain came down and washed away the game. 3 days later, the game was re-started, and the Brewers won the game 8-1 and the series 2-0. This season, the Sox won 2 of the 3 games. The first game, the Sox won 14-0 behind the strong pitching of Simone and an offensive explosion (Jiminian 4 for 4 - 3RBI, Shupe 3 for 3 - 1RBI, Leyner 2 for 2 RBI 4R, and Killian-Reissner-Catano posting 2RBI each). In Game 2, the Brewers won 4-2 behind Lloyd giving the Sox their 1st loss of the season. The Sox would then Rebound in Game 3 with a 5-4 victory behind Randy Shupe. The Brewers pushed 3 runs across in the 9th to make the game close, but Simone closed the door. Nephty Cruz was the offensive star driving in 2 runs, while Upchurch-Wasserman-Killian each drove in a run. |

Sox Complete Weekend
Sweep
Sox Win 12th Game! The NY/NJ White Sox win for
the 12th time this season, as they defeated the Pompton Dodgers
10-1. David Jiminian got the start and was dominating once
again. Jiminian pitched 5 innings, allowing only 1 hit, no runs,
2 walks, and stuck out 7. Jimmy Killian then came in, making his
first pitching performance in 2 years, and pitched 1 inning,
allowing 2 hits, 1 run, no walks, and 1 strikeout. Juan Williams
then came in to close the door with 1 inning of work, allowing 0
hits, 0 walks, 1 strikeout. The offense came to life early for
the Sox as they put up 2 runs on a walk to Upchurch, and an RBI
Double by Jiminian (scored on a wild pitch). In the 2nd the Sox
would make it 5-0 on RBIs from Catano, Capogna, and Jiminian.
The Sox would then blow the game open in the 5th in route to
their 10-1 victory. 1 Run all the Sox need
vs. Marauders The NY/NJ White Sox won their 13th game of
the season with a brilliant 1-0 victory over the Englewood
Marauders. Jason Leyner started and was simply masterful on the
mound. Leyner pitched 8.2 innings allowing no runs on only 5
hits, walked none, and struck out 9. Jay's biggest threat was in
the 5th when the Marauders loaded the bases with 1 out but back
to back strike outs ended the inning... The Sox would push
across the only run of the game in the 3rd inning. With 1 out,
Juan Williams doubled to left field, followed by an RBI Double
by Jason Leyner (yes he did it all). |

Sox Improve to 9-0 The NY/NJ White Sox won their 9th
consecutive game to start the season with a 10-4 win over the
Saddle River Yankees. Randy Shupe made the start and with the
exception of 1 inning was on his game. Shupe pitched the

of the season. The struggling Sox offense got going early today
scoring 3 runs in the first on an RBI Singles by Killian,
Jiminian, and Simone. After the Yankees tied the game in the
bottom of the 1st, the Sox would add 3 more in the 2nd on an RBI
Singly by Leyner, and 2 RBI Triple by Killian. Leyner and
Killian would add RBI Singles in the 4th and 6th innings to give
the Sox a 8-4 lead. Joey Baggs would cap the scoring with a 2
RBI Single in the 8th inning. |

7th Straight Win for Sox The NY/NJ White Sox won their 7th straight game with an 8
to 4 victory over the Ridgefield Park Orioles. This great game was overshadowed
by terrible umpiring against both teams... Juan Williams made the emergency
start and was dominating in his 3 innings of work, allowing only 1 hit, no runs,
2 walks, and striking out 6. Randy Shupe came in for the next 3 innings to pick
up the win. In Shupe's 3 innings, he gave up 3 runs, 2 earned on 2 hits, 3
walks, and struck out 2. Anthony Simone came in to pick up the save pitching the
final 3 innings allowing 1 unearned run on 1 hit, 0 walks, and struck out 4. |

Sox Keep Rolling The NY/NJ White Sox improved to 2-0 on the season with an
8-0 win over the Ridgefield Park Orioles. Pitching was once again key to the Sox
victory as Anthony Simone and Randy Shupe combine on a 1 hit shut out of the
Orioles... Simone made his first start of the year and was outstanding pitching
5 innings of no hit ball, allowing 3 walks, and striking out 4. Shupe pitched
the final 4 innings, picking up the save, allowing 1 hits, 4 walks, and 5 strike
outs... |

Sox Win Opener The NY/NJ White Sox opened up the 2006 Season with an 11-1
win over the Saddle River Yankees. 4 Time Cy Young winner David Jiminian started
and pitched 7 innings of 1 hit ball. In his 7 innings, Jiminian allowed 1 hit, 3
walks, and struck out 10. The offense started out slow until Mike Reissner gave
the Sox a wake up call with a long lead off Home Run in the 3rd inning. Reissner
was a perfect 3 for 3 on the day with 2 singles, a walk, 3 runs scored, and 2
RBI. The Sox lead 2-1 in the 6th inning when Saddle River's pitching fell apart.
8 walks and 2 hit batters allowed the Sox to blow the game open and cruise to
the 11-1 victory. Anthony Simone made his return to the Lou Gehrig League with a
scoreless 8th inning (0 Hits, 1 Walk, and 1 Strike Out). |

NY/NJ WHITE SOX WIN PRE-SEASON OPENER OVER PHILLIES!!! The NY/NJ Sox started their pre-season schedule with an impressive come from behind vicotory over the North Jersey Phillies. On a bitter cold day, defensive miscues helped both teams. In the 2nd inning, the Sox would commit 2 of their 4 errors, to go along with a walk and 3 hits gave the Phillies a 5-0 lead. But the Sox would settle down and play their game. With 2 outs in the 4th inning, Gary Gottlob singled to center field. That would open up the flood gates. 3 hits, a walk, and 2 errors later, the Sox pushed across 7 runs to take a 7-5 lead. Another run would cross the plate without the benefit of a hit in the 6th to give the Sox the victory 8-5. Pitching was once again the key to the Sox victory. 3 relievers (Andrew Palmieri, Jose Arroyo, and Anthony Simone) combined for 5 shut out innings. Palmierie gave up only 1 hit and walked 2 in his 2 innings, while Arroyo picked up the win with 2 innings of 2 hit ball himself. Anthony Simone making his first appearance in 2 years pitched a scoreless 7th, striking out 2 to pick up the save. Offensive Highlights: Anthony Simone 1 for 2 (RBI Single, R), Dave Wasserman 1 for 3 (RBI Single, R, SB), Andrew Palmieri 1 for 2 (Single, R), Gary Gottlob 1 for 3 (Single, R), Joey Capogna 1 for 3 (Double), Adam Light 1 for 3 (Single, R), Jason Leyner and Mike Renda 1 for 3 each (Single). NO REWARD! While the Sox hit the ball hard and had most of the balls die down due to the wind, Joey Capogna suffered the most. While Rich Aielman of the Phillies had the longest shot of the day, Capogna hit the ball hard all 3 times at bat only to have the wind keep the 3 shots in the park. Hit the weight room Joey! lol Next up for the Sox: Their final Pre-Season tune up will be on Sunday March 26th at 12:30pm against the Englewood Marauders at Dwight Morrow High School in Englewood. Players should report at 11:30am... |

SOX WIN OPENER vs KNIGHS! The NY/NJ White Sox opened up the 2005 Fall Season with a 1-0 victory over the defending Champion New Jersey Knights. A great pitchers duel pitted Joel Arroyo (1-0) against Gary Gottlob (0-1). Joel (5IP, 1H, 0R, 4BB, 5K) did not have his best fastball, but his variety of pitches were enough to keep the Knights off balance. Rich "Red" Muniz made his return to the Sox and picked up the Save with 2 scoreless innings of work. Gottlob was the hard luck loser pitching the complete game allowing only 1 run on 5 hits, 5BB, and 5K. The only run of the contest came in the 3rd inning when Lou Colon led off with a walk, stole 2nd, went to 3rd on a WP, and scored on a Single by Randy Shupe. Sox Eliminated The NY/NJ White Sox season came to an end at the hands of
the Parsippany Brewers on Thursday night by the score of 8-1. The Sox down 1

Mario pitches a gem but is
outshined by Jackie! The Sox would like to take the opportunity to thank Kevin and the entire Royals Team for a great effort and great game. Mario Sencion pitched a gem, allowing just 5 hits and getting himself out of jams, which the Sox defense put him in. It was a scoreless game until the 7th inning, when the Sox chipped away, a single at a time, with some Royals defensive miscues, placed 7 runs on that inning. The afternoon was outshined by the Sox new right fielder. Jackie made some key catches, when the Royals were threatening to score in the 1st and 5th inning. In the ninth, the Royals lead-off hitter lined a shot over Jackie's head and was held to just a double. Jackie, the Sox thank you. You are in "A league of you own". Player of the Game: Jackie Schnorrbusch and Mario Sencion |

THE SOX SAY GOOD-BYE The Sox unfortunately will say good bye to long time White Sox, Erik TenCate. Erik joined the Sox back in 1999 and has been a solid bat in the middle of the line up. To join the Sox, Erik was willing to learn the outfield positions as he was mainly an infielder. TenCate's decision to leave the Sox was based on his busy week schedule, as the owner of the Training Zone, and wanting to spend time with his wife and 2 young kids. A man who loves baseball, Erik would have done anything to help the team win. Well respected in the league, Erik will look to find a team in the B division that plays mostly night games. He will be an enormous asset to any team that he joins. He will also join the team for weeknight games when players are needed. As long as the White Sox franchise has a team, Erik TenCate will always have a place to play! Thank you Erik for everything you have done for the team, keep in touch! |

THE NY/NJ WHITE SOX COMPLETE A SPRING & FALL SEASON SWEEP OF THE LOU GEHRIG LEAGUE BY WINNING THE FALL LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP IN 2 GAMES!!! Sal Nicosia comes through with the game winning 2 run bases loaded single in the 12th inning to help the Sox to a 6-4 win over the Parsippany Yankees... Some sloppy play put the Sox in a 3-0 hole after 3 innings. Then the Sox got a wake up call, Joe Alvarez stepped to the plate and hit a "blast" to left field to get the Sox on the board. The Sox responded in the 6th by scoring 3 runs and taking a 4-3 lead on an RBI single by Polizzano and a 2RBI double by LePage. An unearned run helped the Yankees tie up the game in the 7th and neither team could score in the final 2 innings. The game went into extra innings and both teams had their chances, but it was the Sox who took advantage of it in the 12th. With runners on 1st and 2nd and 1 out, Ten Cate hit a ball that was booted by the 3rd baseman. This loaded up the bases for Nicosia, who hit the first pitch he saw to left field that scored 2 runs. Dave Jiminian started and pitched all the way through the 11th inning and started the 12th inning. But after a strike out, Jiminian began to tire and walked a batter bringing up the tying run to the plate. In came LePage to close the door striking out 2 of the 3 batters he faced and recording his 2nd save in as many games. The NY/NJ Sox became the first team in league history to win both the Spring AND Fall Championships... I would like to thank all the players for their hard work, all the family members for their patience, and the players that helped us out when we were in a bind. It was a rough season, but it was all worth it!!! Take some time off, relax, and get ready to do it all again next season!!! |

| NY/NJ White Sox take game 1 of the Finals by the score of 2-1... Dean Podlas made his first start of the post season and was simply amazing. Dean pitched 8 innings, allowing 1 earned run, while striking out 8, walking 2 and giving up only 4 hits. After giving up a run in the first inning on 2 hits, Podlas didn't allow a runner past 1st base the rest of the way. With the Sox down 1-0 in the 7th inning, Vega led off with a single. Barkley then reached on a fielders choice as Vega was thrown out at 2nd base. Barkley then stole 2nd and scored on an RBI single by Alvarez. Cruz then came to the plate with Alvarez on 2nd base and singled in the game winning run... Tony LePage came in the 9th for the save, not allowing a hit, while striking out 2 and walking 1. LePage completed the weekend pitching 11 innings... | ||
| NY/NJ White Sox Advance to the Finals!!! After losing their 1st game of the season in game 2, the Sox responded by defeating the Marauders 7-3 behind the dominating pitching of Tony LePage. Pete Polizzano led the offensive attack going 3-4 (2 Singles, Double, 3RBI, 2R). Alvarez and LePage each had RBI hits and TenCate came through with a 2RBI sac fly. But in the end it was LePage, who struck out 7, giving up 8 hits, and not allowing an earned run. In Game 2, Vega was the hard luck loser. The Sox found themselves down 4-1 when they came to bat in the 6th inning. But an RBI Double by LePage and 2RBI Double by TenCate drew the Sox even. The game went to extra innings where the Sox fell apart and allowed 5 Marauder runs. | ||
