The Royals would add 3 more in the inning giving them a 4-2 lead over the Sox. The Sox would not back down. In the 6th Leyner's RBI Single cut the lead to 4-3. In the 7th the Sox would put the game away on 2RBI doubles by Joe Capogna and Antuan Barnett. The Sox led 7-4 and that was the final. O'Brien didn't figure in the decision, but pitched 5 innings, allowing 5 hits, 4 walks, 6 strike outs, and no earned runs. Anthony Simone picked up the victory for the Sox pitching 3 shut out innings without allowing a hit, walking 2, and striking out 4.

The Championship Game was a rematch vs. the Bronx Royals. David Jiminian of the Sox made sure that the results stayed the same. The Sox offense jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first on an RBI Double by Antuan Barnett, RBI Double by Rich Aleman, and RBI Single by Hector Espinal. Joe Capogna would extend the lead to 4-0 in the 5th with an RBI Single. The Royals would cut into the lead in the 5th when Rootenberg reached on an error and scored on a passed ball making it a 4-1 game. Then with 2 out in the 6th, a dropped fly ball gave Rodrigez a chance who hit an inside the park home run cutting the lead to 4-3. Rich Aleman would then take the game into his hands. In the 6th Aleman launched a long Home Run giving the Sox a 5-3 lead, then Singled in another run in the 8th giving the Sox a 6-3 victory. Jiminian pitched 9 innings, allowing 4 hits, 2 walks, 11 strikeouts, and no earned runs in the contest... Rich Aleman was named the Championship Game MVP going 3 for 4 with a Single, Double, Home Run, 2 Runs Scored, and 3RBI.

White Sox Gear Up for Puerto Rico

The NY/NJ White Sox started their offseason workouts to get ready for the 2007 season and the NABA Puerto Rico Tournament.  The Sox first workout will be on Wednesday February 7th, followed by practice sessions on Saturday and Sunday February 10th and 11th.

If you are interested in joining the Sox in the 2007 NABA Puerto Rico Tournament, or the 2007 Lou Gehrig Season, please contact Sal Nicosia ASAP @ 973-417-9914.

The NY/NJ White Sox would like to congratulate the only inductee to the Class of 2007 Hall of Fame Class, David Jiminian.

To get into the Hall of Fame is not an easy task. There are 19 voters, and 12 votes are required to get into the Hall of Fame. And this is not a popularity contest, as some of the Hall of Famers are no longer in the league and only look at stats. Here was the voting:

You must receive a minimum of 60% of the votes to gain entry into the hall. Here are the results:

Dave Jiminian (Class of 2007) - 94.1%

Anthony Simone - 58.8% (1 vote short)

Eric Lanks - 52.9%

Sharif Upchurch - 23.5%

Phil Barone - 23.5%

Charlie Anstett - 17.6%

Ben DeSilva - 11.8%

Nephty Cruz - 5.9%

Alex Romero - 5.9%

David Jiminian, who received 18 of 19 votes, is probably the greatest pitcher to ever pitch in the Lou Gehrig League. In his 5 season, David has won four (4) MVP awards (2003 Lou Gehrig Fall, 2004 Lou Gehrig Spring, 2005 Lou Gehrig Spring, and 2006 Lou Gehrig Spring), four (4) Cy Young Awards (2003 Lou Gehrig Spring, 2003 Lou Gehrig Fall, 2005 Lou Gehrig Spring, and 2006 Lou Gehrig Spring), and two (2) Championship Series MVP awards (2003 Lou Gehrig Spring and 2005 Lou Gehrig National Fall). That’s 10 awards in 5 years, UNTHINKABLE!

Just to give you a comparison to the top 2 pitchers in league history, David Jiminian and Rick Enright, Here are the CAREER wins, and strike out leaders in MSM League History. Remember Enright is still active and started in the league back in 1994, while Jiminian started in 2002… I have listed two pitchers in wins and strike outs (all star game do not count):

Wins

1. Rick Enright - Regular Season - 50, Post Season - 10, Total – 60

2. Dave Jiminian - Regular Season - 35, Post Season - 9, Total - 44

Strike Outs -

1. Rick Enright - Regular Season - 684, Post Season - 81, Total - 765 (holds the top two single season strikeout records - 137 (spring 1998) and 138 (spring 1999).

2. Dave Jiminian - Regular Season - 466, Post Season - 128, Total - 594 (struck out 103 in 2005).

Rick Enright has won two (2) Cy Young Awards (1998 Mel Ott Spring, 1999 Lou Gehrig Spring) and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in the class of 1999.

David Jiminian, who joins fellow teamates/Hall of Famers Jason Leyner, Jimmy Killian, and Sal Nicosia, is well deserving of this award as he has been a great player, great teammate, and great friend to all of us… Congratulations David!

2006 NY/NJ WHITE SOX
SWEEP SPRING AND FALL CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!

The NY/NJ White Sox completed an extremely successful 2006 season adding the 2006 Lou Gehrig Fall Championship.  The Fall Championship completes a season sweep for the Sox (2nd time in team and league history) as the Sox won the 2006 Lou Gehrig Spring Championship.

The Lou Gehrig Championships saw the #1 Seeded NY/NJ White Sox take on the #2 Seeded Colts Neck Braves.  In the Regular season, the Sox and Braves split a double header with each team winning by scores of 2-1.  The Finals would prove to be just as exciting.  In game 1, Randy Shupe took on Chris Bott.  The game was scoreless through 7 innings, and the Braves would take advantage of Sox errors to take a 3-0 lead in the 8th inning.  But the Sox would not fold.  In the bottom of the 9th, back to back singles by Light and Mercado got the offense going.  With 1 out, Surman singled to load the bases, and Williams reached on an infield single to push across a run.  With the Sox down 3-1 and 2 outs, Championship MVP Jason Leyner lined a 2 run single to left field tying the game.  David Jiminian then came up and lined a single to left scoring the winning run and giving the Sox a 1-0 series lead.  Randy Shupe dominated as he pitched the complete game allowing only 1 earned run on 8 hits and struck out 8.

Game 2 would be just as exciting.  Colin Feneis of the Sox took on Pat Jackson of the Braves.  The Sox jumped out to an early 1-0 lead on an Home Run by Kevin O'Neill.  Adam Light's RBI groundout in the 4th, and Feneis' RBI Single in the 5th gave the Sox a 3-0 lead.  The Braves would fight back scoring 4 unearned runs giving them a 4-3 lead.  But once again, the Sox would not be out done.  In the 8th, Jason Leyner led off with a Double.  O'neill singled Leyner to 3rd with 1 out and Danny Mercado pushed the run across to tie the game.  In the 9th, Steve Surman led off with a double, and with 2 out, Jason Leyner came through again with an RBI Single winning the game.  Colin Feneis pitched a complete game, not allowing an earned run on 7 hits and striking out 11.

NY/NJ WHITE SOX DEFEAT KEARNY RANGERS
ADVANCE TO LOU GEHRIG FALL CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES!

The Sox entered the 2006 Lou Gehrig Fall Playoffs with a record of 8-2 and the Number 1 seed.  In the Semi-Finals, the Sox took on a long time rival in the Kearny Rangers.  Ace David Jiminian got the call and shut down the Rangers.  Kevin O'Neill led the Sox offense going 2 for 3 and collecting 2 RBI leading the Sox to a 6-2 victory.

The Sox advance to the Lou Gehrig Fall Finals to take on the #2 Seeded Colts Neck Braves.

Sox Finish Regular Season @ 8-2

The NY/NJ White Sox will enter the 2006 Lou Gehrig League Fall Season Playoffs with the #1 Seed as they finished with an 8-2 record.  After winning the 2006 Lou Gehrig Spring Championship, the Sox look to defend their 2005 Fall Championship, and match their own personal accomplishment as the only team in League History to win both the Spring and Fall Championships.  So far in 2006, the Sox have a record of 29-5, including playoffs (57-11-1 since 2005).

Seedings and Match-ups may change if Colts Neck and Staten Island make up their double header.

Sox/Braves Split Double Header

The NY/NJ White Sox and the Colts Neck Braves split their Double Header this weekend with each team winning by scores of 2-1.  In Game 1, David Jiminian got the call and shut down the Braves bats.  Chris Bott of the Braves was equally as good, but the Sox managed to push across 2 runs on an RBI Double by Gottlob, and another run scoring on an attempted double steal.  Jiminian struck out 6, which gives him 600 in his 5 year MSM Career.

Game 2 featured another pitchers duel as Colin Feneis of the Sox battled against Frank Fariello.  The Sox lead 1-0 on an RBI Groundout by Dixon, but that lead would evaporate in the 5th inning.  Struggling with his control, Feneis worked into the 5th inning allowing only 3 hits.  After retiring the first batter in the 6, he walked 4 consecutive batters tying the game.  A Sac Fly by Sit gave the Braves a 2-1 victory.  The Sox and Braves only managed 3 hits a piece.

NY/NJ White Sox
2006 Lou Gehrig Champions!

CHAMPIONS!!!
Sox Sweep Yankees to Capture 5th Title!

The NY/NJ White Sox defeated the Saddle River Yankees 2 games to none to win the 2006 Lou Gehrig Spring Championship... After winning Game 1 by the score of 5-3, the Sox would find closing out the Series was a lot easier said than done. The Yankees fought back from a 3-0 hole to tie the game, then found back again from a 7-3 hole to tie the game. In the 9th, the Sox would take a 9-7 lead before the Yankees came to bat in the bottom of the 9th. A run would cross the plate to make the score 9-8 but the Yankees stranded the tying run on 2nd base to end the game.

Ace David Jiminian got the start for the Sox with a chance to bring home another Championship for the Sox. Jiminian pitched 7.1 innings, 6 of them outstanding, but it was the other 1.1 that got him in trouble. David gave up only 6 hits, but walked 6, and allowed 4 earned runs on the night. In his 6 great innings, Jiminian allowed only 1 hit and 3 walks, while striking out 5... Anthony Simone came into the game in the 8th inning to stop the bleeding. Simone pitched 1.2 innings, allowing only 1 hit, 1 walk, 1 earned run, while striking out 2 to pick up the victory.

On Offense, the Sox came out in full force. Championship MVP Candidates Danny Mercado, Joe Alvarez, and Jimmy Killian all put upHUGE numbers in the Finals. Mercado collected another 3 hits, and drove in 2 more runs (giving him 4 hits and 4 RBI in the series - 0.571 batting average). Alvarez also collected 3 hits, drove in a run, and scored a run (also hitting 0.571 in the series). Killian went 2 for 4 with a single, double, 2 runs scored, RBI, and stolen base (Killian hit 0.500 in the series with 3RBI). Dave Wasserman went 2 for 4 with 2 singles, and 2 runs scored (hitting 0.600 in the series). Mike Reissner 1 for 4 (Triple, 2 Runs scored), Sharif Upchurch 1 for 4 (Single, RBI, R, SB), David Jiminian 1 for 4 (Single, R), Jason Leyner 1 for 4 (Single), Randy Shupe 1 for 4 (Single), and Joey Capogna (RBI,Sac Bunt, BB), ...

The Sox would like to thank the Yankees for an outstanding series. The Yankees showed the heart of a champion by never giving up. Keep up the good work guys, see you next season!

Sox 1 Win from 5th Title!
Rally to Defeat Saddle River 5-3 in Game 1

In a rematch of the 2003 Championship Series, the NY/NJ White Sox defeated the Saddle River Yankees 5-3 in Game 1 of the 2006 Lou Gehrig Championship Series. Dave Wasserman got his 2nd consecutive playoff start and once again would not disappoint. Wass pitched 7 innings, allowing 7 hits, 3 runs, walked 5, and struck out 1. It would not come easy for the Sox as Mike Carey kept the Sox hitters at bay allowing only 9 hits, and 5 runs in 8 innings of work.

The Yankees jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 2nd on a Beloff RBI Single. The Sox fought back in the bottom of the 2nd on a 2 run Single by Danny Mercado. The Yanks would continue to fight as Beloff once again comes through with a 2 run single in the 4th giving the Yankees a 3-2 lead. In the 6th inning, the Sox would jump ahead for good on a 2 run double by Jimmy Killian, who the scored on a passed ball to give the Sox a 5-3 lead. But in the 9th, the Yankees would once again give the Sox a scare. Randy Shupe entered the game in the 8th inning, pitching a 1-2-3 inning. In the 9th, after retiring the first batter, a Single, error, groundout, and walk would load the bases for Corso. The Sox then brought in David Jiminian. After a long battle, Jiminian would win the battle with a strikeout for the save.

The Sox lead the Series 1-0 with Game 2 on Saturday August 26th, 10:00am at Larry Doby in Paterson. Expected Starters are David Jiminian of the Sox, and Jose Arroyo of the Yankees. If necessary, Game 3 will be on Sunday night, 7:00pm at Smith Field in Parsippany...

Sox vs. Yankees
Rematch of 2003 Championship Series

The NY/NJ White Sox will host the Saddle River Yankees in a rematch of the 2003 Lou Gehrig Championship.  In 2003 The Sox entered as the #6 seed, while Saddle River was the #2 seed.  The Sox defeated the Brewers in round 1 behind Jiminian 7-0, then defeated the 3 time Defending Champion Verona Marlins 2 games to 1.  In game 1 of that series, the Sox overcame a 13-0 4th inning deficit to win 18-13 in extra innings.  Joe Soto was the series MVP.  In the finals, the Sox took on the Saddle River Yankees.  In Game 1 with the Sox up 8-6 in the bottom of the 9th inning, Frank Kellenher hit a 3 run walk off Home Run to give the Yankees a 1-0 series lead.  In game 2, David Jiminian came in and dominated the Yankees to even up the series.  Game 3 was another great game won by the Sox, Tony LePaige got the win and Championship MVP David Jiminian got the Save.

This year, the Sox won all 3 games in the regular season.  On Opening Day, David Jiminian pitched 7 innings of 1 hit shut out ball in the Sox 11-1 win.  Game 2 saw Randy Shupe shut down the Yankees in a 10-4 victory.  In Game 3 Dave Wasserman won a pitchers duel against Jose Arroyo 4-1.

Saddle River is making the Lou Gehrig League Finals for the 4th consecutive year.  The Yankees look to win their 1st Championship at the expense of the Sox, who are looking to win their 5th League Championship...

Game 1 is scheduled for Sunday August 20th, 7:00pm at Larry Doby...

The Sox Sweep Brewers!
Win Game 1 - 10-3 behind Jiminian and Upchurch.
Win Game 2 - 8-5 (10inn) Behind Wass, Shupe, and Killian.

The NY/NJ White Sox advance to the Lou Gehrig League Finals with a Sweep over the Defending Champion Parsippany Brewers.  Pitching and a complete team effort helped the Sox in both games.  The Sox will now wait for their opponent as Saddle River and Ridgefield Park will play a deciding Game 3 on Saturday August 19th.  Game 1 of the Championship Series will be on Sunday night, 7:00pm at Larry Doby in Paterson.

Sox Take 1-0 Series Lead...

The #1 seeded NY/NJ White Sox opened the 2006 Lou Gehrig Semi-Finals with a 10-3 victory over the #4 seeded Parsippany Brewers. David Jiminian started and was dominating on the mound. Jiminian pitched a complete game, 9IP, allowing 7 hits, 1 earned run, walked 3, and struck out 13. The struggling Sox offense scored early and often today. In the first, after a leadoff walk to Capogna, Alvarez SAC bunt, led to an RBI Single by Upchurch, and later an RBI Sac Fly by Jiminian. Adam Light singled home a run in the 2nd to give the Sox a 3-0 lead. After the Brewers made it a 3-1 game, Jiminian quickly got that run back with a single in the 3rd. With the Sox up 5-1, they would blow the game open in the 7th due to some wildness by the Brewers pitchers. 3 hit batters, a walk, a sacrafice, and 2 hits later, the Sox had themselves a 9-1 lead (Shupe, Alvarez, and Upchurch each collected an RBI). Catano would add an RBI Double in the 8th for a 10-1 lead before the Brewers would score 2 unearned runs in the 9th inning.

The Sox take the 1-0 series lead and look to close out the Brewers in game 2 on Sunday night, 7:00pm at Smith Field in Parsippany...

Sox Advance to the Finals!!!

The NY/NJ White Sox advance to the Lou Gehrig Championships with an 8-5 victory over the Parsippany Brewers in 10 innings. The Sox swept the 2 game series and await the winner of the Saddle River/Ridgefield Park series...

Dave Wasserman got the start and pitched an outstanding game before running out of gas in the 9th inning. Wass pitched into the 9th (8+IP, 10H, 3ER, 2BB, 12K) allowing back to back singles before being replaced by Randy Shupe. The Sox were ahead 5-2, but the lead would not stand. After the back to back singles, a HBP, Error, Walk, and 2 Wild Pitches gave the Brewers 3 runs to tie the game. With 1 out and the winning run on 3rd, Vallela was walked intentionally and Kolding grounded into the 1-6-3 double play to end the inning. The Sox would then score 3 runs in the 10th inning to win the game...

The Sox jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 2nd on a 2 Run Home Run by Jim Killian. With the score 2-1 in the 5th, Killian hit his 2nd Home Run of the game giving the Sox a 3-1 lead. The Brewer would again cut the lead to 1 before Upchurch hit an RBI Double in the 6th. Killian would drive in his 4th run of the game with a fielders choice in the 9th giving the Sox a 5-2 lead. After the Brewers tied the game in the bottom of the 9th, the Soxwould not back down and kept the bats going in the 10th. Colon led off with a Single and stole 2nd. Wasserman, trying to Sacrifice, laid down a perfect bunt for a single putting runners on 1st and 3rd. After Wass stole 2nd, Colon scored on a wild pitch.Mercado then hit into a fielders choice (advanced to 2nd on the run down). Reissner then singled, and Joe Alvarez hit a 2 Run Double giving the Sox an 8-5 lead.

This was another complete team victory as the Sox used 15 players in the game, with 14 players reaching base at least once. The Sox will now wait and host the Best of 3 Championship Series on Sunday August 20th, 7:00pm at Larry Doby in Paterson.

The Sox Look for Revenge!

The NY/NJ White Sox will take on the Parsippany Brewers for the 2nd straight year in the Lou Gehrig League Best of 3 Semi-Finals.  Last year, the Sox came into the series with a 16-3-1 record, but that didn't matter to the Brewers.  With Sox Ace David Jiminian injured, the Brewers came in and defeated Juan Williams 9-3 in Game 1.  The loss in Game 1 forced the Sox to turn to an injured Jiminian in game 2 on Sunday night.  In 3 innings of play, the Sox had a 6-0 lead, Jiminian had 6 strikeouts, BUT the rain came down and washed away the game.  3 days later, the game was re-started, and the Brewers won the game 8-1 and the series 2-0.

This season, the Sox won 2 of the 3 games.  The first game, the Sox won 14-0 behind the strong pitching of Simone and an offensive explosion (Jiminian 4 for 4 - 3RBI, Shupe 3 for 3 - 1RBI, Leyner 2 for 2 RBI 4R, and Killian-Reissner-Catano posting 2RBI each).  In Game 2, the Brewers won 4-2 behind Lloyd giving the Sox their 1st loss of the season.  The Sox would then Rebound in Game 3 with a 5-4 victory behind Randy Shupe.  The Brewers pushed 3 runs across in the 9th to make the game close, but Simone closed the door.  Nephty Cruz was the offensive star driving in 2 runs, while Upchurch-Wasserman-Killian each drove in a run.

Sox Finish 2006 Season with
17-3 Mark and Number 1 Seed!

As the #1 Seed, the Sox get a 1st Round Bye into the Semi-Finals of the Lou Gehrig League Playoffs.  The Sox will open up the Best of 3 Semi-Finals on Saturday August 12th, and play Game 2 on Sunday August 13th.  If necessary, Game 3 will be on Saturday August 19th.

Should the Sox make the Finals, Game 1 of the Best of 3 Series will begin on Sunday August 20th.

Times and Location will be announced ASAP.

16th Win for the Sox

For the second straight year, the NY/NJ White Sox have won 16 games in a 20 game season. The Sox blanked the Hoboken Dodgers 10-0 to win their 3rd straight game, and improve their record to 16-3. David Jiminian took the mound in his tune-up for the playoffs and was dominant. Jiminian pitched a complete game shut out, allowed only 2 hits, no runs, walked 1, and struck out 10. The Sox offense got out of the box in the 1st with Cruz bringing a run home on a ground out. Reissner singled home the 2nd run in the 3rd, Shupe's RBI Single and Simone's 2RBI Single gave the Sox a 5-0 lead. In the 6th, Cruz singled home a run, Killian tripled in another run, and a SAC Fly by Shupe brought in the 3rd run of the inning and gave the Sox an 8-0 lead. In the 7th, anderror scored the 9th run, and Joey Baggs lined a single to left for the game clinching run...

UP NEXT: The Sox will wrap up their regular season as they host the Pompton Dodgers tomorrow night (Monday July 31st), 7:30pm at Larry Doby in Paterson. The Sox will then take the week off and get ready to host the semi-finals on Saturday August 12th against Englewood, Parsippany, or Hoboken...

Sox Win 15th Game

The NY/NJ White Sox defeated the Saddle River Yankees 4-1 to win their 15th game of the season. This was a pitchers duel between Dave Wasserman of the Sox and Jose Arroyo of the Yankees in a game that lasted less than 2 hours. Wasserman pitched a complete game, 7IP, allowing only 3 hits and 1 run, while walking 6 and striking out 7. Jose Arroyo was equally as dominant pitching a complete game, 6IP, allowing only 6 hits and 0 earned runs, while walking 2 and striking out 1...

The Sox could not muster much offensively, but took advantage of the Yankee mistakes to score their 4 runs. In the first, Gomez reached on an error, stole 2nd, went to 3rd on a fly out, and scored on a wild pitch. In the 5th, with the scored tied 1-1, Catano singled to right with 1 out. Back to Back errors loaded the bases for Upchurch, who blooped a double into left field. 2 runs scored, and the 3rd run scored on an over throw. That was all the offense Wasserman would need...

NEXT UP FOR THE SOX... The Sox look to finish up their season on a strong note as they play their final 2 games of the regular season. On Sunday, the Sox host the Hoboken Dodgers, 10:00am at the Totowa Oval. On Monday, the Sox host the Pompton Dodgers in the regular season finale, 7:30pm at Larry Doby...

Sox Clinch 1st Place

The NY/NJ White Sox defeated the NJ Braves by the score of 8-3 (9-0 due to a forfeit in the top of the 5th inning)... Juan Williams was on the mound and dominated the Braves thru the first 4 innings, allowing only a walk to the leadoff batter in the 4th inning (retired the first 10 batters to face him)... Fielding lapses led to a long top of the 5th inning where the Braves would push across 3 runs. With 2 outs, the game was called, and the Sox got the win... Williams finished with 4.2 innings pitched, 2 hits allowed, 1 earned run, 1 walk, and 6 strikeouts...

OFFENSIVE HIGHLIGHTS: Victor Catano 1 for 2 (Double, SF, BB, R, 3RBI), Mario Sencion 1 for 2 (2 Run Double), Danny Mercado 2 for 3 (2 Singles, RBI), Juan Williams 1 for 1 (Double, 2BB, 2R), Sharif Upchurch 1 for 2 (Triple, BB, 2SB, R), and Jimmy Killian (2R, BB, HBP, RBI)...

NEXT UP FOR THE SOX: The Sox take on the Saddle River Yankees on Thursday night July 27th, 7:30pm at Larry Doby in Paterson. Players should be there by 7pm...

#1 Seed Not Clinched Yet...

The NY/NJ White Sox will have to wait another day as they try to clinch the #1 Seed and home field advantage throughout the Lou Gehrig League Playoffs... With Sal Nicosia (DH) starting at 3rd base, Victor Catano (1B) starting in Left Field, Mario Sencion(P) starting at 2nd base, and Henry Jiminian out of retirement in Right Field, the Sox went out to have some fun as they tried to get some of their injured players healthy for the playoffs...

David Jiminian got the start but was victimized by his defenses lack of mobility among other things... Jiminian gave up 5 earned runs, the most since 2003, but struck out 12 batters on the night... Although the offense had its chances, the Sox could only push across 2 runs on the night... The turning point camein the 6th inning when the Sox loaded the bases with 1 out but couldnt score. Colletto was able to strike out the side to get out of the jam... The Sox left a total of 12 runners on base...

NEXT UP: The Sox will host the NJ Braves on Tuesday July 25th, 7:30pm at Larry Doby in Paterson...

Jiminian pitched 5 innings, allowing only 1 hit, no runs, 2 walks, and stuck out 7. Jimmy Killian then came in, making his first pitching performance in 2 years, and pitched 1 inning, allowing 2 hits, 1 run, no walks, and 1 strikeout. Juan Williams then came in to close the door with 1 inning of work, allowing 0 hits, 0 walks, 1 strikeout. The offense came to life early for the Sox as they put up 2 runs on a walk to Upchurch, and an RBI Double by Jiminian (scored on a wild pitch). In the 2nd the Sox would make it 5-0 on RBIs from Catano, Capogna, and Jiminian. The Sox would then blow the game open in the 5th in route to their 10-1 victory.
