FINALS - Game 2 - 8/20/06 @. Saddle River Yankees

 

Danny Mercado

Danny Mercado had yet another great game in the Championship Series.  Mercado collected another 2 hits, both singles, and drove in 2 runs.  In the series, Danny hit 0.571 and drove in 4 runs.

Joe Alvarez

Joe Alvarez showed why he is one of the most feared Post Season Players.  Alvarez collected 3 hits (hit 0.571 in the series), drove in a run, scored a run, and stole 2 bases.  Offense helps win games, but they say Defense Wins Championships, and its hard to find someone better than Joe.

Jim Killian

Jimmy Killian had another Big Championship Game Performance.  Killian had a Single, Double, RBI, SB, and scored 2 runs to get the Sox going and lead them to another Championship.

FINALS - Game 1 - 8/20/06 vs. Saddle River Yankees

 

Dave Wasserman

The NY/NJ White Sox started the Lou Gehrig Championships by riding the teams hot hand.  Dave Wasserman started his 2nd consecutive game and did not disappoint.  Wass pitched 7 innings, allowing 7 hits, 3 runs, 5 walks, and 1 strike out.  Dave also went 1 for 1 at the plate with a Single.

Jim Killian

Jimmy Killian continued his dominance in post season play.  With the Sox down 3-2 in the 6th inning, Killian lined a 2 run double to right field giving the Sox a 4-3 lead.  Jimmy would score on a passed ball giving the Sox a 5-3 lead and victory in Game 1.

Danny Mercado

Danny Mercado came through once again for the Sox in the clutch.  With the Sox down 1-0 early, Mercado lined a 2 run Single to right field giving the Sox a 2-1 lead.

Semi-Finals Game 2 - 8/13/06 vs. Parsippany Brewers

 

Dave Wasserman

Dave Wasserman continued his dominant streak in the League pitching 8 great inning before tiring in the 9th inning.  Wass allowed 3 earned runs, on 10 hits, walking 2, and striking out 12.  Dave then came up in a huge spot in the 10th with a bunt single when he was trying to sacrafice.

Jim Killian

Jimmy Killian is known for coming up huge in the Playoffs.  Today was no different.  With the game scoreless, Killian drilled a 2 run Home Run that gave the Sox a 2-0 lead.  In the 5th, Killian hit a 2nd home run giving the Sox a 3-1 lead.  Then in the 9th, he drove in his 4th run on a fielders choice.

Joe Alvarez

Joe Alvarez only got 1 hit in the game, but it was a big hit.  Alvarez, known for coming up with big hits, came to the plate with the Sox up 6-5 in the bottom of the 10th, 1 out, and 2 runners on.  Alvarez drove a Double to deep center scoring both runs.  That gave the Sox a 3 run lead and eventual 8-5 victory.

Semi-Finals Game 1 - 8/12/06 vs. Parsippany Brewers

 

David Jiminian

David Jiminian comes through for the Sox once again with his usual dominating performance.  Jiminian pitched a complete game, 9IP, allowing only 7 hits, 1 earned run, walked 3, and struck out a season high 13.  David also collected 2 hits and drove in 2 runs on the day.

Sharif Upchurch

Sharif Upchurch continued his great season picking up another 2 hits, driving in another 2 runs, scoring another 2 runs, and stealing another 2 bases.  Reef has provided the energy the Sox need all season for the Championship Run!

Adam Light

Adam Light picked a good time to make his first appearance on the Player of the Game board.  Light went 3 for 4, with 3 Singles, an RBI, and a Run Scored.  Adam also caught the complete game victory.

Game 20 - July 31, 2006 vs. Pompton Dodgers

 

 


Sox win Season Finale by Forfeit over the Pompton Dodgers.  Sox finish the 2006 season with a 17-3 record and the #1 Seed in the 2006 Lou Gehrig League Playoffs. 

Game 19 - July 30, 2006 vs. Hoboken Dodgers

 

David Jiminian

David Jiminian gets ready for the Lou Gehrig League Playoffs with a complete game shut out over the Hoboken Dodgers.  Jiminian pitched 7 innings allowing only 2 hits, while striking out 10 batters, and only allowing 1 run.  Jiminian finished the season with an ERA of 1.35.

Anthony Simone

Anthony Simone came up with one of the biggest hits of the game.  With the Sox up 2-0 in the 5th inning, Simone lined a 2 run single into left field giving the Sox a 4-0 lead.  The Sox would roll from there winning the game 10-0.

Although only 2 names are listed above, the 10-0 victory over the Hoboken Dodgers was a complete team victory.  8 of 10 players recorded at least 1 hit, and 7 different players drove in at least 1 run.  With the additions, 10 of 11 Sox players reached base.

Game 18 - July 27, 2006 vs. Saddle River Yankees

 

Dave Wasserman

Dave Wasserman improved his record to 4-0 on the season with a complete game victory over the Saddle River Yankees.  Wass pitched 7 innings, allowed only 1 run on 3 hits, while walking 6 and striking out 7.

Sharif Upchurch

Sharif Upchurch came up big once again for the Sox.  With the score tied 1-1, and 2 outs in the 5th inning with the bases loaded, Reef came through with a 2 Run Double to left center field.  An error on the play allowed the 3rd run to score, and gave the Sox the 4-1 victory over the Yankees.

Game 17 - July 25, 2006 vs. NJ Braves

 

Juan Williams

Juan Williams made the emergency start and pitched 3 scoreless innings allowing no runs on 1 hit, walked 2, and struck out 6.  Juan was also the Defensive Player of the Game making a number or great picks at first base.

Victor Catano

Victor Catano makes the board for the first time this season after playing an outstanding game.  Catano when 1 for 1 with a 2RBI Double, Sac Fly, and walk.

Danny Mercado had his best offensive game of the season for the Sox.  Mercado hit the ball hard all 3 times at the plate, collecting 2 singles and an RBI.

Game 16 - July 20, 2006 vs. Ridgefield Park Orioles

 

Sharif Upchurch

Sharif Upchurch was the lone bright spot for the Sox as Reef collected another 2 hits.  Upchurch collected 2 Singles, and scored a run in the Sox 8-2 loss to the Orioles.

Game 15 - July 16, 2006 vs. Englewood Marauders

 

Jason Leyner

Jason Leyner did it all vs. the Marauders.  Leyner got the start, and was masterful on the mound.  Leyner pitched 8.2 shut out innings allowing only 5 hits, did not walk a batter, and struck out 9.  Jason also had an RBI Double to account for the Sox only run in a 1-0 victory over the Mob.

Game 14 - July 15, 2006 vs. Pompton Dodgers

 

David Jiminian

David Jiminian was back to his old form for the Sox.  Jiminian pitched 5 innings, allowing only 1 hit, no runs, 2 walks, and 7 strike outs.  At bat, David went 1 for 1 with a Double, 2 walks, 2 RBI, and a run scored.

Joey "Baggs" Capogna

For the first time this year, and the first time as a member of the White Sox, Joey Capogna makes it as a Player of the Game!  Baggs had a great day at the plate going 1 for 2 with a double, 2 RBI, and 2 walks.

Game 13 - July 09, 2006 vs. Parsippany Brewers

 

Randy Shupe

Randy Shupe had one of his most dominating starts as a Sox pitcher.  Pitching on short rest, Shupe pitched 6+ dominating innings before tiring in the 7th.  Shupe allowed 1 unearned run, 6 hits, 5 walks, and 8 strike outs.

Nephty Cruz

Nephty Cruz continued his hot hitting as he paced the Sox offense.  Cruz picked up 2 hits (Single and Double), drove in 2 runs, and scored a run.

Game 12 - July 02, 2006 vs. NJ Braves

 

Anthony Simone

Anthony Simone had another great game on the mound for the Sox.  Simone pitched 8 dominating innings, allowing only 4 hits, 2 runs, walked 3 batters, and struck out 9.  Anthony improved his record to 3-1 on the season.

Dave Wasserman

Dave Wasserman came up big for the Sox when they were struggling of offense.  Wass went 2 for 4 with a Single and a 2 run double that gave the Sox a 5-2 lead.  Dave pushed his average up to 0.444 on the season.

David Jiminian

David Jiminian led the Sox offensive attack by collecting 3 hits, stealing 2 bases, and scoring 2 runs.

Anthony Simone

Anthony Simone took his first loss of the season but did it in dominating fashion.  Simone pitched a complete game, allowing only 7 hits, walked 3, and struck out 14.  At bat, Anthony went 1 for 2 with a Single, and a run scored.

Game 10 - June 15, 2006 vs. Parsippany Brewers

 

Danny Mercado

Danny Mercado makes the board for the first time with the Sox.  Danny had his most consistent game at the plate and made all the plays in the field.  Mercado drove in the Sox 1st run with a long RBI double.  Playing injured, Danny give the Sox some life!

David Jiminian took his first regular season loss in over 2 years as the Sox lost to the Brewers.  Jiminian pitched well enough for the win allowing only 2 earned runs on 6 hits, and struck out 7.  David also doubled in the contest, stole a base, and scored a run.

Game 9 - June 11, 2006 vs. Saddle River Yankees

 

Jim Killian

Jimmy Killian had a great game collecting 3 hits, driving in 4 runs, scoring a run, and stealing a base.  With this performance, after a slow start, Killian raised his average to .300.

Sharif Upchurch

Sharif Upchurch kept his hot hitting going after collecting another 3 hits and getting on base 4 times.  Reef walked, had 2 Singles, a Double, Scored 4 runs, and Stole 4 bases.

Game 8 - June 4, 2006 vs. NJ Braves

 

Nephty Cruz

Nephty Cruz had one of his best games of the season collecting 2 hits (both Doubles) and driving in 2 key runs in the Sox 4-0 victory.  Cruz also made a number of key plays at first base to keep the Braves off the board.

Dave Wasserman

Dave Wasserman improved his record to 3-0 as he defeated the Braves.  Wass pitched 5 innings allowing only 5 hits, 0 runs, 2 walks, and struck out 6.  Dave was forced to leave the game with a pulled muscle.  Wass also went 2 for 2 at the plate.

Jason Leyner

Jason Leyner continued his onslaught on the Lou Gehrig League by picking up another 2 hits, and driving in another 4 runs.  Leyner leads the league with 14 Runs Batted In, and a 0.667 On Base %.  Jason even stole a base in the game.

Dave Wasserman picked up his 2nd victory of the season pitching 5 solid innings.  Wass allowed only 2 runs, on 4 hits, while not walking a batter, and striking out 5.  At bat, Wass went 1 for 1 with a Single, Walk, and Run scored.

Sharif Upchurch

Sharif Upchurch had one of his best games of the short season going 2 for 2, scoring 3 runs, driving in 2 runs, and stealing a base.  After a slow start, Upchurch now has his average up to 0.333 on the season.

David Jiminian

David Jiminian did not have his best stuff, but it was more than enough to handle the Marauders.  Jiminian pitches a complete game allowing 4 hits, 0 runs, 2 walks, and 8 strikeouts.  In his career, Jiminian is 8-0 vs. the Marauders with an ERA of 0.56.  David has allowed 4 earned runs in his 64.1 innings.

Dave Wasserman made his first start of the season and continued the dominance of the Sox pitching staff.  Wass pitched 6 strong innings allowing only 5 hits, and 1 run, while walking 2 and striking out 7.

David Jiminian continues to swing a hot bat.  For the 2nd straight game, Jiminian went 4 for 4.  In this contest, Jiminian had 2 Singles, a Double, a Triple, and drove in 5 runs.  In the last 2 games, Jiminian is 8 for 8 with 5 Singles, 2 Doubles, a Triple, and 8 RBI.  David is hitting 0.750 on the season.

Mike Reissner

The Sox leading hitting, Mike Reissner had another great game!  Reissner collected another 2 hits in 2 at bats, including a Double, and Home Run.  Rise also drove in 3 runs and scored 3 runs on the day.  On the season, Rise is hitting 0.778 with a slugging % of 1.556.

Anthony Simone

Anthony Simone for the 2nd straight game was dominating.  Simone threw another 5 shut out innings allowing only 3 hits, with no walks, and 11 strike outs.

After a week off, David Jiminian came back with a bang.  Jiminian went 4 for 4 with 3 Singles, a Double, 3 RBI, and 2 Runs Scored.  David also pitched the final 2 innings allowing only 1 hit, walking none, and striking out 3.

Jim Killian

Jimmy Killian makes the board for the first time since joining the Sox from the Clifton Cardinals.  Killian collected 2 hits and 3 RBI to lead the Sox to an 8-0 victory over the Orioles.

Anthony Simone

Making his first start in over 2 years, Anthony Simone could not ask for any more.  Simone pitched 5 innings allowing a single hit.  Anthony walked 3 and struck out 4 in the contest, picking up his first victory.

Randy Shupe pitched the final 4 innings picking up the Save against the Orioles.  Shupe allowed only 1 hit, without allowing a run, walking 4 and striking out 5.

Game 1 - April 2, 2006 @ Saddle River Yankees

 

Mike Reissner

In his first game as a White Sox player, Mike Reissner made quite an impression.  In his first at bat, Reissner blasted a leadoff Home Run to give the Sox a 1-0 lead.  He followed that up with 2 Singles, and a Walk, scoring 3 runs and driving in 2.

David Jiminian

David Jiminian got the call on opening day and did not disappoint.  Jiminian pitched 7 innings allowing only 1 hit, 3 walks, and struck out 10.  The only hit Jiminian gave up was with 2 outs after an error, which helped score a run for Saddle River.

Jason Leyner

Jason Leyner, playing his first regular season game with the Sox (his 8th team in the Lou Gehrig League) was a dominant force.  Leyner picked up 2 hits, 3 RBI, walked, and was hit by a pitch in his first game.
