FINALS - Game 2 - 11/19/06 vs. Colts Neck Braves

 

Colin Feneis

Colin Feneis got the call in Game 2 of the Championship Series to try and bring home the title.  Feneis would not disappoint.  Colin pitched a complete game, allowing 7 hits, no earned runs, 4 walks, and struck out 11.  In  the 9th inning, Feneis struck out Tavares with the bases loaded to end the game.

Kevin O'Neill

Kevin O'Neill came up with his biggest game as a Sox Player.  O'Neill got the Sox offense going with a long home run in the 2nd inning giving the Sox a 1-0 lead.  Kevin would then collect 3 more hits, giving him 4 on the day and reach a 5th time on an error.

4 for 5 - 3 Singles, Home Run, RBI, R

 

Steve Surman

Steve Surman proved to be a real spark plug for a struggling Sox offense.  Surman continued his offensive outburst collecting 3 hits and scoring 2 runs leading the Sox past the Braves for another Championship.

Jason Leyner

After getting the game winning hit in Game 1, Jason Leyner continued to swing a hot bat.  With the Sox down 4-3 in the 8th, Leyner led off with a double and scored the tying run.  Then in the 9th Jay did it again.  With 2 outs and Surman on 2nd base, Leyner lined a single to left scoring the winning run.  Leyner was crowned Championship MVP.

FINALS - Game 1 - 11/19/06 vs. Colts Neck Braves

 

Randy Shupe
Randy Shupe got the call for Game 1 of the Finals against the Colts Neck Braves.  Shupe would not disappoint.  The Sox and Braves were scoreless for 7 innings before the Braves would capatalize on Sox mistakes and take a 3-0 lead.  Shupe would not be fazed and kept the Braves at 3 as the Sox would score 4 in the bottom of the 9th to win.

Jason Leyner

With the Sox down 3 to 1 in the bottom of the 9th inning, Jason Leyner came up with the bases loaded and 2 outs.  Leyer came up with the biggest hit of the season lining a double into the gap tying the game at 3.

David Jiminian

After the Sox tied the game in the 9th inning at 3, David Jiminian came up with a chance to win Game 1.  Once again, Jiminian would not disappoint as he lined a single to left field scoring Williams from 2nd base and giving the Sox a 4-3 victory and 1 game to none lead in the Championship Series.

Semi-Finals Game 1 - 11/18/06 vs. Kearny Rangers

 

David Jiminian

The Sox and Rangers renewed an old playoff rivalry and David Jiminian would make sure the Sox would not lose.  Jiminian making the start, pitched a complete game, allowing only 5 hits, and 2 earned runs, while walking 2 and striking out 6.  The 4 time Cy Young Award winner kept the Rangers off balanced and helped the Sox advance to the finals.

Kevin O'Neill

Kevin O'Neill had his best game of the season for the Sox and it couldn't have come at a better time.  O'Neill collected 2 hits and drove in 2 runs leading the Sox offense to a 6-2 victory.

Game 10 - November 12, 2006 vs. Kearny Rangers

 

Anthony Simone

Anthony Simone got the start in the Regular Season Finale and picked up his 3rd victory of the season over the Kearny Rangers.  Simone pitched 5 innings, allowing 1 run, on 3 hits, no walks, and struck out 5 on the day.  Simone finished the fall 3-0 with an ERA of 1.06, no walks, and 19 strike outs in 17 innings.

Juan Williams

After Simone completed his 5 innings of work, Juan Williams came in to give the Sox 2 solid innings of relief work.  Williams pitched 2 innings allowing only 1 hit, no runs, 1 walk, and struck out 3.  Juan finished the season with an ERA of 0.96, 1 complete game, and 7.71 Strike Outs per 9 innings pitched.

Colin Feneis

Colin Feneis came into finish off the Rangers pitching 2 innings and picking up the Save.  Feneis finished the season with a 2-1 record, 2.42 ERA, 1 complete game, 1 save, and 21 strikeouts in 22.1 innings pitched.

Game 9 - November 5, 2006 @ Ridgefield Park Orioles

 

Anthony Simone

Anthony Simone picked up his 2nd victory of the Fall and kept his Cy Young hopes going with a complete game shut out over the Ridgefield Park Orioles.  Simone pitched a complete game, allowing 5 hits, no runs, no walks, and struck out 7 on the day.

Steve Surman

Steve Surman continues to shine with the Sox.  Surman had an amazing game collecting 2 more hits, scoring 4 runs, stealing 3 bases, and driving in a run.

Jason Leyner

Jason Leyner got back on track collecting 2 doubles and driving in 2 runs leading the Sox to a 7-0 victory over the Orioles.  Leyner also caught a gem behind the plate and threw out both runners trying to steal off of him.

Game 8 - November 5, 2006 vs. Ridgefield Park Orioles

 

Colin Feneis

Colin Feneis picked up his 2nd Fall victory with the Sox as he defeated the Ridgefield Park Orioles.  Feneis struggled in the 2nd inning allowing 3 runs, but cruised from there retiring 12 of the next 13 batters to face him, striking out 5.  Colin allowed only 4 hits in his complete game victory.

Steve Surman

Steve Surman had his best game as a White Sox picking up 2 clutch hits with the Sox down in the game.  Surman drove in 2 runs as well as scored 2 runs.

Randy Shupe

Randy Shupe led a Sox attack going 2 for 2 on the day including a double, 2 runs, and 2 runs batted in.

Game 7 - October 22, 2006 @ Colts Neck Braves

 

Mike Dixon

Mike Dixon came to the aid of the short handed Sox and drove in the only run the Sox could score.  Unfortunately that was not enough for the Sox as they would lose the game 2-1.

Game 6 - October 22, 2006 vs. Colts Neck Braves

 

David Jiminian

David Jiminian was called upon to take on the Undefeated Colts Neck Braves.  Jiminian would not fail the Sox as he pitched a complete game allowing only 1 run on 8 hits, 3 walks, and 6 strikeouts.

Gary Gottlob

Gary Gottlob led the Sox to victory in this one.  With the Sox down 1-0 in the 5th inning Gottlob lined an RBI Double to tie the game, then scored the winning run on a double steal.

Game 5 - October 15, 2006 @. Staten Island Barristers

 

John Carr

John Carr came down to fill in for the Sox and left a lasting impression.  Not only did Carr catch both games of a double header, but Carr came through with a Game Winning 2 Run Single in the 6th inning of game 2...

2 for 3 - 2 Singles, R, 2RBI

 

Juan Williams

Juan Williams kept his hot hitting going as he picked up another 2 hits on the afternoon.  Williams also scored a run, and drove in the tying run helping the Sox to a 5 4 victory.  In the field, Juan made a number of great defensive plays saving the short handed Sox a number of errors.

Dave Wasserman

Dave Wasserman got the call in Game 2, trying to keep the string of great pitching performances going for the Sox.  Wass did that and was able to pick up the victory for the Sox.  Without his best stuff, Wass was able to pitch a complete game, 7 Innings, allowing 10 hits, 3 earned runs, 1 walk, and 2 strikouts.

Game 4 - October 15, 2006 vs. Staten Island Barristers

 

Gary Gottlob

Gary Gottlob continued to swing a hot bat for the Sox.  Gottlob lined a bases loaded double (clearing the bases) to cut the Barristers lead to 5-3.  Gary also reached base with a walked.

Juan Williams

Juan Williams took the mound against the Staten Island Barristers and was un-hittable.  Unfortunately for Williams, the Sox defense could not make any plays behind him.  Williams pitched a complete game, 7 innings, allowed only 1 earned run on 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5.  Juan took the hard luck loss in the game.

Game 3 - October 14, 2006 @ Ridgefield Park Orioles

 

Colin Feneis

Colin Feneis made his first start of the season for the Sox and was dominating.  Feneis came within an out of a complete game, pitching 8.2 innings, allowing only 4 hits, 1 run, 3 walks, and struck out 9 batters.

Mike Reissner

Mike Reissner was pushed up to the leadoff spot and would not disappoint.  Reissner went 3 for 5 on the day with 2 singles, and a double to lead a lack luster Sox attack.  Rise also made a number of great defensive plays at Short Stop.

Game 2 - September 28, 2006 @ Kearny Rangers

 

David Jiminian
David Jiminian once again got the Sox offense going.  In the 2nd inning with no score, Jiminian came up with 2 on and 2 out.  He promptly lined a Single into right field giving the Sox a 1-0 lead.  The in the 6th inning with the Sox up 4-2 he would add a Sac Fly giving the Sox a 5-2 lead.  The run proved to be huge as the Rangers scored 2 in the 7th to make the score 5-4...

Randy Shupe

Randy Shupe got the call in Game 2 for the Sox and delivered a masterpiece.  Shupe scattered 7 hits, walked 3, allowed 3 earned runs, and struck out 7 on the night.  At the plate, Randy walked twice and scored 2 runs, including the winning run.

Game 1 - September 26, 2006 vs. Allied Mets

 

Anthony Simone

Anthony Simone made the opening day start for the Sox and would not disappoint.  Simone pitched 5 innings, allowing only 2 hits and 2 runs.  Anthony struck out 7 batters on the day and walked none.

David Jiminian

David Jiminian got the Sox offense going with a Sac Fly in the first inning giving the Sox a 1-0 lead.  Jiminian would then drive in the 5th and eventual winning run with a Single in the 5th.  David finished 1 for 3 on the day with 2 RBI.  Jiminian pitched a hitless inning, walking 2 and striking out 2.
