2005 Fall Season

Finals Game 2 - November 19, 2005 vs. NJ Knights

 

Juan Williams

 With a number of choice to start Game 2, Nicosia chose Williams and Juan did not disappoint.  Williams pitched a complete game masterpiece allowing only 1 run and 3 hits.  At bat, Juan clubbed a 2 run bomb that gave the Sox a 5-1 lead.

Nephty Cruz

Nephty Cruz completed a perfect Fall Season with another great game at bat.  Cruz collected 3 hits, including a Double and a Home Run.  Cruz was the team leader and league leader in just about every offensive category in the fall.

Joe Alvarez

Joe Alvarez made his return to the Sox after injuries and personal issues forced him to miss the last 7 games.  Alvarez took his normal spot atop the Sox batting order and would not disappoint.  Joe went 3 for 5 with 2 Singles and an RBI Double that gave the Sox a 2-0 lead.  As usual, Joe was also solid in the field.

Lou Colon

Lou Colon struggled for much of the first 8 games during the season, but came back strong when it counted the most.  Colon finished with a .320 batting average and carried it through the post season.  Colon went 3 for 4 in the clincher with an RBI.

Finals Game 1 - November 13, 2005 vs. NJ Knights

 

David Jiminian

David Jiminian pitched a total of 1 inning in the fall.  When asked to go out and pitch against one of the best pitchers in NJ, David came through with a complete game gem.  Jiminian allowed only 2 runs and struck out 10 in 9 innings.  At bat, Jiminian's 2 run Single in the 8th to give the Sox a 3-2 lead and eventual 4-2 win.

Jose "Snoop" Ferreira

Jose Ferreira got things started for the Sox from the lead off spot in the order.  Ferreira collected 2 hits and scored 2 of the teams 4 runs.  Snoop also made a number of great defensive plays filling in for the absent Alvarez.

Semi Finals - November 12, 2005 vs. Bergen Yankees

 

Sean O'Brien

Sean O'Brien pitched the opening game of the playoffs and was dominant.  O'Brien went 8 strong innings allowing only 1 earned run on 4 hits, and Struck out 7.  At one point of the game, Sean retired 18 of 20 batters.

Nephty Cruz

Nephty Cruz showed why he was an MVP Candidate in the league.  With the game scoreless in the first inning, Cruz BLASTED a 3 Run Home Run to give the Sox a 3-0 lead.  Cruz also made a number of nice defensive plays at 2nd base.

Lou Amador

Lou Amador was the Sox whipping boy for most of the season, but Amador had one of his best games of the fall.  Amador collected 3 RBI on the day and was great filling in at short stop for the Sox.

Game 10 - November 7, 2005 vs. NJ Mets

 

Juan Williams

Juan Williams made his first start of the fall season and was outstanding.  Williams pitched 5 excellent innings allowing only 2 hits, 3 walks, and struck out 9.

Nephty Cruz

Cruz finished off his MVP campaign with league leading 13th hit and league leading 18th RBI.  Cruz also had a walk in the game, his 10th of the season which also leads the league.

David Jiminian

David Jiminian finished off a strong Fall Season with another 3RBI, which gives him 10 on the year.  David's 10 RBI are 3rd in the league.

 

1 for 4 - 3RBI Double, R

Game 9 - November 3, 2005 vs. Parsippany Yankees

 

Dave Wasserman

Dave Wasserman made his 3rd start of the season, a playoff tune-up, pitched 4 innings of 3 hit ball.  Wass allowed only 1 unearned run, walked none, and struck out 2.  Dave finished the Fall Season without allowing an earned run over 17 innings of work.

David Jiminian

David Jiminian continued a his hot Fall hitting going 2 for 3 with 2 Singles, 2 Runs Scored, and 2 RBI.

Game 8 - October 30, 2005 vs. Englewood Marauders

 

Nephty Cruz

Nephty Cruz had the biggest day in Lou Gehrig history picking up 4 hits, 3 Doubles, and 7 Runs Batted In.  Nephty also scored a run in the contest and was solid at 3rd base. 

 

4 for 5 - Single, 3 Doubles, 7RBI, R

 

Randy Shupe

Randy Shupe once again dominated the Marauders as he pitched 7 great innings allowing only 2 earned runs.  Shupe allowed only 6 his, 3 walks and stuck out 7 in his 7 innings of work.

Game 7 - October 17, 2005 vs. Bergen Yankees

 

David Jiminian

David Jiminian had another great game for the Sox.  Jiminian collected another 3 hits, including a Home Run, and 3 RBI.

Dave Wasserman

Dave Wasserman was a double threat in this game.  On the mound, Wass pitched a complete game Shut Out, throwing 7 innings allowing only 2 hits and Striking Out 11. At bat Wass had a Double, 2 Walks and a Run.

Game 6 - October 16, 2005 vs. Bergen Yankees

 

Nephty Cruz

Nephty Cruz continued his hot Fall with another 3 hits, including a Home Run and 3 RBI.  Cruz also scored 3 runs and had a walk in the contest.

Victor Catano

Victor Catano stepped to the plate 6 times, and reached base in all 6 appearances.  Catano collected 3 Singles, 3 Walks, a Run Scored, and a Stolen Base in the contest.

Rich "Red" Muniz

Red Muniz made his first start for the Sox this Fall and was dominating.  Muniz pitched 6 innings allowing only 4 hits, walked 1 batter and stuck out 7.

Game 5 - October 02, 2005 vs. NJ Mets

 

Joe Alvarez

Joe Alvarez is On Fire.  Alvarez, in his final tune up for Arizona, had another big game hitting a Double, Triple, walking twice, scored 4 Runs, and drove in 2 runs.  Joe was once again solid in the field making a number of nice place keeping the Mets off the board.

Randy Shupe

Randy Shupe remained hot for the Sox as he collected 2 hits, drove in 4 runs, and scored 2 runs himself.

Joe Soto

Joe Soto, playing in only his 2nd game in a year and a half, did not show any rust.  Soto picked up 3 hits in the contest and scored 2 runs.

Game 4 - September 29, 2005 vs. Parsippany Yankees

 

Sean O'Brien

Sean O'Brien making his first appearance for the Sox was dominating.  Sean pitched a complete game allowing only 3 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 8.

Joe Alvarez

Joe Alvarez had another solid game for the Sox.  Alvarez went 2 for 2 with 2 walks, scored 3 runs, stole a base, and drove in a run.

Nephty Cruz

Nephty Cruz was pitched around all night, but when he got a chance, he made the Yankees pay.  Cruz went 1 for 1 with a double, Sac Fly, 2 Walks, 2 RBI, and a Run Scored.

Game 3 - September 28, 2005 vs. Knights

 

Nephty Cruz

In an ugly game for the Sox, Nephty Cruz was one of the few bright spots for the Sox.  Cruz stepped to the plate 3 times, collecting a Double and 2 walks.

Joe Alvarez

Joe Alvarez helped the Sox save face in this game coming in with the Sox down 10-0 and holding the Knights at bay.  In his 3 innings, Alvarez allowed 0ER, on 1 hit and stuck out a batter.  Joe also scored the lone run for the Sox with his speed on the bases.

Game 2 - September 25, 2005 vs. Marauders

 

Snoop Ferreira

Ferreira came through for the Sox in a big way.  In the first inning he doubled in the first run of the game, then Singled in a 2nd run in the 6th inning.  Snoop was also solid in the outfield.

2 for 4 Single, Double, 2RBI

 

Randy Shupe

Randy Shupe, on the board for the 2nd consecutive game, pitched a complete game, 10 innings, for his first White Sox victory.  Shupe was dominant on the mound allowing only 5 hits and 9Ks.

Game 1 - September 21, 2005 @ NJ Knights

 

Randy Shupe

Randy Shupe came up big for the Sox with a clutch RBI Single to give the Sox their 1-0 victory over the defending Champion Knights.  Shupe also made a number of defensive plays.

Joel Arroyo

Joel Arroyo made his debut on Wednesday night and pitched 5 Shut Out Innings allowing only 1 hit and striking out 5.

Rich "Red" Muniz

Red Muniz made his return to the Sox and pitched 2 Shut Out Innings to pick up the Save.  Red struck out 3 of the 6 batters he faced and allowed only 2 hits.
