Sox Rally to Sweep Double Header!
Over Come 4 Run Deficit to Win in Extra Innings!

The NY/NJ White Sox rally from a 4 run deficit to defeat the Saddle River Yankees 8-7 in 9 innings... With the win, the Sox now stand at 6-0 on the season.

The Sox jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the 1st inning on an RBI Single by Killian, RBI Triple by Jiminian, and RBI Single by Light. But the Yankees come back with a vengance, scoring 3 runs in the 3rd, and 4 runs in the 4th chasing first time starter Alex Cedeno. Cedeno, pitching for the first time since high school, lasted 3.2 innings, allowing 7 hits, 5 earned runs, 2 walks, and struck out 4. Game 1 winner, Randy Shupe, came in to get the Sox out of the 4th inning jam, and pitched a scoreless 5th inning (1.1 IP, 2H, 0R, 1BB, 1K. With the score 7-3, the Sox brought in David Jiminian. Jiminian held the Yankees down and the Sox would respond. Gottlob and Leyner had 2 out RBI Singles each cutting the lead to 7-5. Then in the 6th, Jimmy Killian doubled home 2 runs to tie the game. The game then went into extra innings. In the bottom of the 9th, Jiminian singled to lead off the inning, Mercado walked with 1 out, and Shupe reached on an error with 2 outs bringing up John Evans. Evens lined a 2-2 pitch into center field giving the Sox the 8-7 victory. Jiminian pitched 4 innings, without allowing a hit, no runs, 3 walks, and struck out 5.

NEXT UP: After a week off, the Sox will play the Parsippany Brewers on Sunday May 20th, 2:00pm @ JP Stevens High School in Edison.
