7th Straight Win for Sox
Defeat Orioles 8-4 Despite Horrible Umpires

The NY/NJ White Sox won their 7th straight game with an 8 to 4 victory over the Ridgefield Park Orioles. This great game was overshadowed by terrible umpiring against both teams... Juan Williams made the emergency start and was dominating in his 3 innings of work, allowing only 1 hit, no runs, 2 walks, and striking out 6. Randy Shupe came in for the next 3 innings to pick up the win. In Shupe's 3 innings, he gave up 3 runs, 2 earned on 2 hits, 3 walks, and struck out 2. Anthony Simone came in to pick up the save pitching the final 3 innings allowing 1 unearned run on 1 hit, 0 walks, and struck out 4.

The Sox jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 1st when Upchurch tripled in Colon and scored on a grounder by Leyner. The lead would grow to 5-0 with some Oriole miscues, Light RBI FC, and 2 RBI Triple by Upchurch. But the Orioles would not quit. 2 Runs scored in the 4th, 1 in the 6th, and 1 in the 7th made it a 5-4 game. The Sox would then put the game away with 3 in the 8th on an RBI Double by Cruz, RBI Double by Leyner, and RBI Groundout by Jiminian...

The Sox will now break for the Atlantic City tournament and return to Lou Gehrig action on Thursday night, June 1st, against the Pompton Dodgers at the Totowa Oval (7:30pm start time).
