Undefeated Season Comes to an End...

The NY/NJ White Sox lost their first game of the season at the hands of the Parsippany Brewers by the score of 4-2. David Jiminian got the start and was victimized by 1 error. The Sox led 2-0, on a Mercado RBI Double in the 2nd, and Jiminian scored on a wild pitch. But in the 5th, the Brewers would strike. A leadoff walk to Flecha got the inning started, then Cabonilas was sent up to sacrafice. With Flecha running on the pitch, Cabonilas popped the bunt up. The ball was dropped and put runners on 1st and 2nd. After a HBP to load the bases, Wilfong tripled in 3 runs. With the Sox down 4-2, they would still have their chances. The Sox stranded runners on 1st and 3rd in the 6th, then the Brewers defense would give the Sox a chance in the 7th. With 2 outs, Lou Colon and Joe Alvarez both reached on errors. Upchurch would then get hit by a pitch to load the bases, but Leyner popped up to end the game...

OFFENSIVE HIGHLIGHT: Not much to tell here as the Sox would manage only 4 hits. Danny Mercado 1 for 3 (RBI Double), Sharif Upchurch 1 for 2 (Single, BB, HBP, 2SB), David Jiminian 1 for 3 (Double, R), and Juan Williams 1 for 3 (Single).

Next up for the Sox is the Englewood Marauders on Father's Day. Sunday June 18th at 3:45pm (Players 3:00pm). The game will be played at Dwight Morrow High School.
