In Game 2, Sox Rally from 8-1 deficit to win 6th Straight Game

In Game 2, The NY/NJ White Sox sent out Jose Arroyo, who was making his Lou Gehrig Debut with the Sox, but struggled (1.2IP, 9H, 6ER, 1BB, 0K).  Arroyo did not have the benefit of the solid Sox defense, as the defense was non existent. Many plays that should have been made were not and lead to a big 2nd inning for Taino. The Sox found themselves down 8-1 after 1 1/2 innings, but clawed their way back.  In the bottom of the 2nd, The Sox scored 4 runs with Alvarez, Cruz, Acosta, and Jiminian all collecting an RBI. The Sox would then explode in the 5th on RBI Singles by Nicosia, Alvarez, Acosta, and an RBI Double by Cruz. The scoring would be finished in the 6th when Nicosia singled home 2 more runs.

Down 8-1 the Sox called on Ace David Jiminian to try and hold down Taino. Jiminian would not disappoint pitching 5 shutout innings, allowing 2 hits, walking 2, and striking out 9.

Offensive Highlights: Nicosia 3-4 (3 Singles, 3R, 3RBI), Cruz 2-3 (Single, Double, 2BB, R, 2RBI, SB), Alvarez 2-3 (Single, Double, BB, HBP, 2RBI, 2SB), Barkley 2-4 (2 Singles, 3R, RBI, 3SB), Acosta 1-2 (Single, 3RBI, BB, SB), Mercado 2-2 (2 Singles, 2BB, 3R, SB), Morales 2-4 (2 Singles, R) and Polizzano 1-4 (Single).

Next up for the Sox is the NJ Nationals on Thursday night, May 26th - 7:30pm @ Larry Doby in Paterson...
