MVP/Cy Young NO-HITS Defending Champs...

3 Time MVP/Cy Young David Jiminian continued his dominance of the Defending Champion Cardinals by pitching a no hit shut out against them. This is Jiminians 2nd straight shut out against the Cards.  Jiminian struck out 13 and walked 5 in the contest.

The Sox improved their record to 4-0-1 with the 3-0 win and drop the Cards to 3-2. The game was scoreless going into the 6th inning when the Shupe Express seemed to lose some steam. Barkley led off with a walk then stole 2nd base. On a sacrafice attempt by Alvarez, Shupe threw the ball away, which allowed Alvarez to go to 2nd. Cruz then followed with a LONG Double to left and went to 3rd on the throw. Cruz then scored on a wild pitch to give the Sox 3-0 lead.

Not too much offense to talk about as Shupe was also on his game. Jiminian 2-2 (Single, Double, HBP), Cruz 1-2 (Triple, RBI, R, BB), and Barkley 1-2 (Single, BB, R, SB).

The fans are a big part of the Sox success as they seemed to rile up the Cards and keep the Sox in the game! Thanks for the support!

Hey Amador, show me the money!

The Sox will look for their 3rd consecutive shut out as they play a double header against the North Bergen Tainos on Sunday May 22nd @ The Totowa Oval.  Game 1 starts at 10:00am.
