Sox Flop in Finale
In their final game of the Regular Season, the NY/NJ White Sox lost to the Bergen Yankees by the score of 8-3. Earlier in the day, the game was supposed to be a forfeit, but NY players from the Sox were willing to come down and help the Yankees out. That decision would cost the Sox. Mario Sencion started and was victimized from his make shift defense (7IP, 8H, 5ER, 5BB, 5K). The offense did nothing to help out as Darrian Barranco from the Yankees was on his game.
On the offensive side of the game, Edwin Guzman had his best performance of the season going 2 for 4 with a Single, Triple, Run Scored, and Stolen Base. Victor Catano went 2 for 2 with 2 Singles, BB, and an RBI. Both Jiminian and Cruz went 1 for 3 each with a Single to cap the offense.
The Sox will now get a week of to rest and relax as the other teams in the league fight for the chance to play them. Rounds 1 and 2 will be held on August 6th and 7th. The Semi-Finals will begin on Saturday August 13th with the Sox hosting the the game at Larry Doby in Paterson at 10:00am. Players should report at 9am...
