The Arroyo Brothers Combine to Defeat Royals

The NY/NJ White Sox won their 4th straight game as they defeated the Bronx Royals by the score of 11-4. The Arroyo brothers combined to shut down the Royals allowing only 3 hits and giving up 4 unearned runs. Jose Arroyo (5.1IP, 3H, 0ER, 3BB, 4K) got the start and was dominating until the 6th inning. Jose retired 13 of 15 at one point allowing 2 base runners only once in the first 5 innings. When he ran into some trouble in the 6th, brother Joel Arroyo came in to save the day. With the score 5-2 and the bases loaded, Joel (1.2IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, 3K) shut the door.

The Sox couldn't get much going on the offensive side as Royals pitching walked 6 batters and hit another. Christian Morales led the offensive attack with 2 Singles and 3 RBI. Edwin Guzman chipped in a 2 RBI Single, and Mercado collected 2 RBI. David Jiminian also launched his 2nd home run of the season to start the Sox offense. Acosta swung a hot bat going 2-3 with an RBI. Harris also collected an RBI and Nephty Cruz hit his 5th triple of the season.

Next up for the Sox is the 12-1 Parsippany Brewers on Friday night at the Totowa Oval. Game time is 7:30pm...
