Sox Eliminated...
The NY/NJ White Sox season came to an end at the hands of
the Parsippany Brewers on Thursday night by the score of 8-1. The Sox down 1
game to none in the series needed a victory to continue, but Billy Alec, winner
of game 1, shut down the Sox offensive attack. Once again the Sox would get
their chances, but could not come up with the bit hit to get them going.
MVP/Cy Young David Jiminian got the start on 3 days rest but did not have his
"A" game. David struggled with his command and was hit harder in this game than
in the past 2 seasons. Jiminian, a lock for his 4th Cy Young Award, pitched 7
innings allowing 10 hits, 4 earned runs, 4 walks, and a season low 6 strike
outs. Joe Alvarez came in to pitch the 8th and allowed 2 runs on 2 hits, while
walking 2 and did not record a strike out.
OFFENSIVE HIGHLIGHTS: Angel Acosta 2-3 (2 Singles, Sac Fly, RBI), Joe Alvarez
2-4 (Single, Double, 2SB, R), Victor Catano 1-1 (Single), David Jiminian 1-2
(Single, SB), and Juan Williams 1-3 (Single,SB).
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the players for the hard work
put in all year and the dedication put forth this season. It is much
appreciated! See you guys in the fall!
