Sox Pounded...

The NY/NJ White Sox suffered their first loss of the season in ugly fashion to the NJ Knights by the score of 12-1. Nothing was working right for the Sox as everything was clicking for the Knights. Jose Arroyo (3+IP, 11H, 6ER, 1BB, 1K) got the start and was victimized by poor defense and timely hitting by the Knights. Arroyo was relieved by Joe Alvarez (3IP, 1H, 0ER, 2BB, 1K) in the 4th inning. Alvarez kept the Knights at bay, but the defense gave away 2 more runs in the 6th.

Things were not much better on the offensive side as the Sox could only muster 5 hits. Nephty Cruz went 1 for 1 with a Double and 2 Walks, Joe Soto was also 1 for 1 with a Single and 2 Walks, Randy Shupe went 1 for 3 with a double, Lou Amador went 1 for 3 with a Single, and Lou Colon was 1 for 2 with a Single.

The Sox will look to turn things around as they visit the Parsippany Yankees on Thursday night. Game time is 8:30pm at Smith Field in Parsippany...
