CHAMPIONS!!!

The NY/NJ White Sox captured their 4th League Title with a 7-1 victory over the NJ Knights. Juan Williams took the mound and was brilliant (9IP, 2H, 1ER, 8BB, 4K) allowing only 2 hits in the contest. The Sox would lead this one from the first inning on. Jiminian gave the Sox a 1-0 lead with a Sac Fly. Alvarez made it 2-0 with an RBI Double in the 5th, and Lou Colon's RBI Single in the 6th made it 3-0. Williams would then get himself into and out of trouble in the bottom of the 6th. Williams walked the first 3 batters of the inning, struck out the next 2, then allowed a run on a wild pitch. The Sox would then put the game out of reach in the 7th when Alvarez led off with a Single. Williams and Cruz hit back to back home runs to give the Sox a 6-1 lead. An error would give the Sox a 7-1 lead in the 9th. The Sox swept the series 2 games to none.

On the Offense: Nephty Cruz completed a great season going 3 for 5 with a Single, Double, Home Run, R, RBI. Joe Alvarez went 3 for 5 with 2 Singles, Double, R, RBI, 2SB. Lou Colon went 3 for 4 with 2 Singles, Double, RBI. Juan Williams 1 for 4 with a 2 Run Home Run, 3R, SB. Jose Ferreira and Randy Shupe Single and Run a piece. David Jiminian 2RBI.
